Chinatown Wars is one of the few games that you will get on the Nintendo DS with an “M” rating from the ESRB. As you roll with protagonist Huang Lee, you will hotwire cars, scratch lottery tickets, hack security terminals, assemble sniper rifles from parts, and deal drugs, with each of the various mini-games specifically geared towards a believable gang activity. From the game’s early scenes to the end-game showdown, it’s all in the name of climbing to the top of the food chain within the Triad and being one of the street’s deadliest icons. This one needs Parental Guidance as some people would not like their kids playing this game. It has a mature ranking.

Taking advantage of the dual screen format, much of the heads-up display is revamped for a cleaner look, as menu-related features are separated from the action. Additional touch-ups like cleaner translations and the inclusion of the anime-style cutscenes by Akira Toriyama’s Bird Studio round out the experience, giving us the best version of Chrono Trigger that we may ever get. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks has railroads, but Phantom Hourglass hit the DS first with the open ocean. While sailing on Hyrule’s Great Sea, Link stumbles upon a mysterious ghost ship, resulting in the kidnapping of Tetra. Taking off to the rescue, players can chart courses for Link’s ship, the S.S. Linebeck, while taking direct control of Link himself in dungeons. Some of Link’s iconic weapons are also reworked for the DS, such as tracing a path for the Boomerang. Phantom Hourglass wraps the standard Zelda formula in an innovative and fun control scheme that gives new life to several of the series’ age-old concepts. This is a fantasy action adventure and is suitable for everyone.

Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart DS packs a lot of content into the various tracks offered throughout the game, but it’s also one of the first DS titles to inspire the use of its Wi-Fi focused multi-player. Like other Mario Kart titles in the series, Nintendo’s handheld racer is filled with colorful courses and a handful of crazy weapons for eliminating the fierce completion. Along with a mission mode, new characters, and tons of unlockable vehicles, Mario Kart on the DS has a vicious crop of computer-controlled racers to compete against in the main Grand Prix mode. Mario Kart DS represents a significant step forward for Nintendo’s much-loved racing series, and not only because it’s the first to feature online play. Pokemon HeartGold Version/Pokemon SoulSilver
